New sunspot 0916 is imaged here in poor seeing , close to the "on" limb. It is a good example of H a bright Cloud tops following the pattern of the plages.

This image shows the spot nearer the centre of the solar disc. This is where the granulation is most noticable, it blots out the more subtle detail of the plages. These are well shown in the broadband ha image.
Note the "cartwheels" around the spot penumbras in narrow band Ha

Again another pair of images of the same spot group. The LH is taken with a Herschel Wedge and Trutek type2 with ir block, and th eRH is in Ha using a Daystar .5A ATM filter.

0960 Erupted a short while after the previous picture.Here we see the flare activity. You can see it "brewing" in the image below.

This is sunspot 0960. the LH image was taken with the HA filter before warm up, i.e. off band. The RH image was taken with the .65A Daystar ATM filter, fully warmed up.
