Once again a white light shot in good seeing. you can see the solar granulation beginning to resolve in the foreground as we look through less solar atmosphere

Sunspot 11109 in White light

This is the same sunspot as imaged below in H alpha note just how different they appear. The penumbra appears misty in Ha and climbs upwards into the higher Ha plasma "clouds". Whereas in white light it appears to rise lightly around the umbra then "flatten" down into the chromosphere.
