Saturn opposition 2008 Date: 24th February 2008 Telescope: C14 SCT Camera: Lumenera Skynyx 2.0.mono This Image show the run up to opposition. On the day before opposition the rings start to brighten. On the actual night of opposition the rings really shine, almost like a car numberplate does when it send light directly back to the light source. The globe takes on a more dull appearance lacking in colour. Its a great pity seeing was so bad. See 13 Jan 2005 for good seeing example.
